A new creative hub in the heart of Québec’s music scene.
The National Music Centre (NMC) is proud to open a new satellite space in Montréal’s Quartier des Spectacles, strengthening our commitment to Canada’s Francophone music communities. Located in the same building as ADISQ, this new hub marks an important step in NMC’s efforts to build deeper connections between the country’s diverse music scenes.
As a national organization, NMC is dedicated to celebrating and sharing the full richness of Canada’s musical stories. Establishing a presence in Montréal—an international cultural capital and a vital centre for Francophone music—reflects our long-term aspiration to engage more meaningfully with artists, creators, industry partners, and audiences across Québec and beyond.
Our new space is designed to:

This expansion builds on a long-standing relationship between NMC and Québec’s artistic community—one that includes exhibitions, artist residencies, live performances, and the curation of the Cercle de la renommée de la musique québécoise at Studio Bell in Calgary.
The National Music Centre (NMC) is a registered charity that amplifies the love, sharing, and understanding of music and exists to preserve, share, and celebrate Canada’s music story.
From its home in Calgary, Alberta, NMC is where legendary artists are honoured, new voices are discovered, and the power of music is brought to life. NMC’s programming revolves around four key pillars: exhibitions, artist development, live performance, and education.
NMC is home to four Canadian music halls of fame—including ADISQ’s Quebec Music Hall of Fame—along with a vast collection of rare instruments, artifacts, and memorabilia spanning over 450 years of music history, and interactive exhibits for all to enjoy.
Through world-class recording studios, artist residencies, and live performances, NMC fuels creativity and provides a platform for musicians at every stage of their careers. NMC is also a hub for learning, with education programs that inspire the next generation of artists, music lovers, and industry leaders.
The music that shapes your everyday life — that’s our purpose. Since 1978, ADISQ has been nurturing a strong and innovative independent music scene.
Created to support the development of Québec’s music industry, ADISQ brings together over 200 local independent companies.
It works to strengthen the industry, promote its professions, represent its diversity, and foster a vibrant and sustainable cultural ecosystem.
ADISQ's mission: to showcase local music and live performances, both in Québec and around the world.
