Follow the sound of live music as you stroll through the heart of East Village. With staggered set times to ensure you don’t miss a beat. 

Whether you’re a rocker, a toe-tapper, or just love discovering live music in unexpected places, Rock the Village has you covered.

About the Artists

Mallory Chipman

Described as “profoundly moving” by Celtic Music Radio, Edmonton-based award-winning artist, Mallory Chipman, is known for her cinematic brand of folk-rock and powerful storytelling. Her recent album, Songs to a Wild God, hit #5 on the Folk International Charts and was featured on NPR, CBC, and Sirius XM, and earned her a nomination for Solo Artist of the Year at the Canadian Folk Music Awards. Chipman has opened for Jann Arden and Madeleine Peyroux, and has sung back-up for the legendary rock band Heart, but it is with her solo project that she is continually stunning audiences across Canada, Europe, and Japan. Mallory Chipman is nominated for the 2026 Folk Award for Solo Artist of the Year.

Miles Canyon

Miles Canyon is a Canadian country artist and songwriter known for his raw honesty, storytelling, and dynamic performances. Originally from Saskatchewan and now based in Alberta, he has quickly become a rising voice in Canada’s country scene. With hundreds of songwriting credits and years of touring, Canyon delivers a commanding stage presence. Drawn to country’s emotional depth, he now pursues it full time. He has performed at major events including Country Thunder, the Canadian Country Music Awards, and The JUNOs.

Boreal

Boreal is a powerhouse trio of Canadian singer-songwriters—Tannis Slimmon, Katherine Wheatley and Angie Nussey—blending distinct voices and styles. From beautiful and delicate to powerful and uplifting, their stunning harmonies, dynamic musical arrangements, and masterful songwriting create a magical, deeply moving experience that leaves audiences spellbound. Their latest album, “Winterbirds” has earned Boreal three 2026 Canadian Folk Music Awards nominations for Album of the Year, Ensemble of the Year, and Vocal Group of the Year.

Irene Poole

Irene Poole is a Banff-born, Calgary-based singer-songwriter and actor. She has captivated audiences with her nature-inspired indie-folk, full of heartfelt lyrics and angelic melodies. Her debut album, The Mountains and The Sea, charted at #13 on CKUA, and was nominated for a YYC Music Award for Folk Recording of the Year. Irene is the 2025 recipient of the YYCMA Emerging Artist Award.

Rachel Therrien

Three-time GRAMMY-nominated trumpeter, composer, producer, and bandleader Rachel Therrien is celebrated for her emotionally powerful sound, fearless improvisation, and genre-expanding artistic vision. Based between New York City, Montreal, and Havana, she merges contemporary jazz with Afro-diasporic traditions, weaving Afro-Caribbean and Latin American rhythmic forms into a bold modern voice. Winner of the TD Grand Prize Jazz Award and the Stingray Rising Star Award, Therrien is also a multiple JUNO and ADISQ nominee. She leads the acclaimed Latin Jazz Project (Mi Hogar II) and the duo Dialogue with pianist Albert Marqués, and has performed worldwide at star venues like Blue Note NYC, SFJAZZ, and the Lincoln Center Summer for The City. Rachel Therrien is nominated for the 2026 Folk Award for Instrumental Solo Artist of the Year.

Eden Taylor

Eden Taylor is a Calgary-based singer-songwriter known for soulful, pop-leaning songs and an honest, compelling stage presence. A seasoned live performer with hundreds of shows across Canada and the U.S., she connects easily with audiences through emotionally grounded songwriting and strong vocals. With multiple industry accolades and notable festival and theatre performances, Eden is entering a focused new era of releases that highlight her growth as both an artist and a live performer.
